Mobility of the future: Hutchinson’s innovation in Thermal Management

Hutchinson is launching the Dynamic Insulating System (DIS) to optimize the thermal management of electric and hybrid vehicles. Using innovative insulation materials, the DIS creates a thermal barrier between the battery pack and the outside environment.

In cold weather, the DIS reduces heat transfer to the outside of the pack and improves the performance of the battery. In hot periods, the DIS reduces the risk of the battery overheating and decreases the energy required by its active cooling system. The battery is thus better protected.
